On February 7, 2009 at Oberlin College in Afrikan Heritage House, we re-purposed the World Diaspora
in a Rhythm Immersion Process Drama, which was facilitated by Baba Issa Abramaleem, and enacted by Oberlin Students and Faculty.
The first section was the Golden Age Motherland Rites-of-Passage experience. Here the Initiates
were initiated into the esoteric rhythms and rituals of the Mother Culture, passing through a line of parallel drums
which symbolized the 12 original strands of DNA (before the “fall” and the resulting disconnection of all but 2 strands,
the double helix that we have now)…

After a cataclysmic separating event, the original Initiates were arbitrarily divided into “sub-races” and sent to diverse parts of the earth, where they took the original teachings and evolved diverse cultures over millennia. Here, the cultures have been brought together to share the cultural expressions they have evolved…

The Culminating Event was a Diaspora Drum Circle where all the cultures came together to celebrate their diversity and glory in their “oneness” - all cultural expressions contributing their unique genius to the mix of planetary healing rhythms!
